PAINT AND LETTERING DIAGRAMS
Presented on this page you will find a collection of artwork, drawings and prototype diagrams from several sources that are intended to help the modeler to accurately paint and letter various locomotive and passenger cars.
On this page you will find artwork by Donnie Dixon. In an effort to increase the availability of Southern Railway resources he has created a number of valuable drawings which are presented here. All of Donnie's drawings are Copywrited by him and reposted here with his permission. It is for personal use only. Those wanting to use this artwork for commercial use must contact Mr. Dixon directly. For more information on his drawings click here.
Also among the drawings are a select group from Robert Hundman's Mainline Modeler magazine. During Mr. Hundman's tenure as publisher of Mainline Modeler a number of valuable line drawings were published that featured Southern Railway subjects. Some of these line drawings also featured lettering for various locomotives and are presented here as additional resources. All Mainline Modeler drawings are © Copyrighted by Robert L. Hundman and are intended for personal use only.
In addition there are some prototype paint diagrams that modelers might also find useful and are used by permission of the people who have provided them. I am deeply indebted to Eric Furr and Allen Stanley and his Railroad Data Exchange for their contributions to this effort.
A note about Allen Stanley and the Railroad Data Exchange. The Railroad Data Exchange is an on-going effort to gather together prototype information about railroads all over North America so that it might be shared with others. Prototype documentation such as steam and diesel locomotive diagrams, roster information and locomotive specifications is being sought. If you would like to help you can contact Allen by clicking here. I know that any help that a person can provide would be greatly appreciated!!!
